The beginning of summer can mean many things to us Brits; fresh strawberries, a few pints in the local beer garden or enduring the great British BBQ that inevitably ends up in a thunderstorm and a side of under-cooked sausages. However, here at SessionCam, the onset of warmer weather means only one thing…The SessionCam Summer Party!
Last weekend saw our annual SessionCam summer festivities take place on a Friday night, which also happened to be the longest day of the year. We thought we’d mix it up a little this year and chose to hold our party on The Queen of The Broads, a large beauty of boat that sailed us around the beautiful Norfolk Broads for an evening of drinks, music, socialising and some lovely buffet food provided by Mustard Cafe in Norwich.
It was a great opportunity for our newer members of staff to get to know their colleagues from other departments in the company as well as a chance for everyone to relax, socialise and let their hair down for a night. We set sail early in the evening through the small town of Wroxham with it’s riverside pubs and quaint holiday homes on the water, but soon found ourselves looking out onto tranquil fields as far as the eye could see with only our colleagues, a DJ, some local wildlife and a few other passing boats for company.
It’s always a bit of a risky business predicting the weather on this side of the pond, even in the height of summer, but luckily it stayed dry for us for the whole evening. We experienced an amazing sunset before we made our journey back to shore through the gorgeous countryside that surrounds the Broads. All in all, a perfect end to a super fun evening!
